This shade is equipped with Phifer SheerWeave Sun Control fabric Style 3000 which is 14% open (see Fabric Facts below). It provides marginal heat control, is wonderfully sheer and is an elegant and exquisite shading fabric. It's made of vinyl coated fiberglass and polyester yarns. Style 3000 is available up to a maximum width of 96". Any roller shade with a panel width greater than the width of the fabric will be “railroaded” (fabric is turned on its side and may be seamed). Any panel with a height greater than the maximum fabric width less 5” will have one or more visible horizontal seams.

FABRIC FACTS:
Phifer SheerWeave sun control fabrics offer an exciting new alternative to ordinary window coverings. They add beauty and elegance to compliment the interior décor while enhancing the quality of light at the window. SheerWeave’s unique light filtering qualities help reduce the fading of drapes, carpets and other interior furnishings, while continuing to offer a view to the outside. SheerWeave filters out heat and glare, while allowing natural light to enter. Unlike many fabrics, SheerWeave fabrics allow visibility, even when closed.
Phifer SheerWeave Sun Control fabrics are basket type weaves and there are several styles to choose from. The weave styles range from 25% open to 1% open to blackout, room darkening. Tighter weaves provide greater sun control but as the weave becomes tighter the vision through the fabric is reduced. If you have a major or serious sun/heat problem you should consider the tighter weaves such as 5%, 3% or even 1%. Our most popular styles are the 5% open fabrics which provide great sun control and yet still allow good vision through the fabric.

LOUVOLITE HARDWARE FACTS:
This custom roller shade is equipped with a high quality Louvolite roller tube that is 1 ½” diameter and System 40 clutch. Shades larger than 109” wide x 84” high will have the 1 ¾” roller tube and System 45 clutch. The tube has two splines that run the full length of the tube. The splines add considerable strength to the tube which reduces deflection (sagging). Unlike shades that use glue or tape to attach the fabric to the roller tube, on the Louvolite shade the fabric is machine inserted into one of the splines creating a very positive, extremely durable attachment.
The Louvolite clutch raises and lowers the shade smoothly and easily. The clutch system is operated with a #10 plastic bead chain that is actually rated to handle more weight than a steel chain. The continuous loop chain raises and lowers the shade when pulled in either direction. The control chain always remains the same length no matter what position the shade is in. Since the control chain is always the same length and does not get longer as the shade is raised, it is safer for homes with children or pets. You have your choice of a black clutch, black chain and black brackets or a white clutch, white chain and white brackets. If you do not select a color for the clutch and chain the factory will color coordinate it for you based on the color of fabric you select.
The Louvolite clutch has a brake which enables the roller shade to hold any desired position precisely and maintain that height with zero slippage. No adjustments are ever needed. If a clutch does not have a brake the shade can lower by itself due to its own weight. The controls/clutch can be placed on either side at the time of installation.
Frequently, roller shades are used in conjunction with draperies and other window fashions; therefore, fascia panels are typically not included and is not included with this shade. However, fascia panels can be ordered as an option. They are constructed of L shaped aluminum and available in white, aluminum or bronze. The optional fascia panel conceals the front and bottom of the roller tube and mounting hardware. (Some like the look of the shade with a fascia and some prefer the look of the uncovered roller tube). The fascia system is designed for fast, easy and secure installation. If you order the optional fascia with the shade you must select the side on which you want the controls – right side or left side as pointed out in the options box. With fascia, if you don’t select the control side, the controls will be placed on the right side by the fabricator.
Our Louvolite shades also have an extruded heavy-weight aluminum hem bar which provides extra stability. The exterior of the hem bar is wrapped with the shades fabric for uniform appearance and the fabric is attached to the hem bar with a wrapped inserted spline system for extra strength. Splined aluminum bars are better than wood and non splined aluminum because aluminum does not warp.
Special Note: the width of the shade with the hardware attached to the ends of the roller tube is called the “tip to tip” measurement. Please be aware that the fabric cannot be and will not be as wide as the “tip to tip” measurement. This is true for all roller shades. On all roller shades that utilize a clutch the fabric will be approximately 1 ¼” less wide than the “tip to tip” measurement. There will be a ¾" light gap on one side and a ½" light gap on the other side. In addition to “outside mount” and “inside mount” roller shades can be ordered “cloth measurement/outside mount.
