This is a great shade for a nursery, or child's room or other rooms where you want to control light and glare. Or perhaps a media room or home theater. This shade has Reminiscent fiberglass/vinyl blackout fabric which is blackout/room darkening. "No Light Blackout” and “Room Darkening” are terms that the industry uses for fabrics in which light doesn’t penetrate. Of course, some light will still enter from the sides, top and bottom of the shade. The fabric is 3 ply Embossed Vinyl. It has duplex construction with ordered color on room side, neutral white on street side. The fiber glass layer adds long lasting strength and prevents the fabric from sagging. This 8 Gauge material is fade and curl resistant. The shade has a wooden roller tube and is equipped with a clutch that has a continuous loop color coordinated chain. This fabric is 73" wide. Reminiscent shades wider than 73” will be rail - roaded and some sizes may require a seam. Translucency is rated 5 – for blackout/room darkening and full privacy. It can be cleaned with a light vacuum or damp cloth with mild soap (should not rub). The large selection of vibrant colors makes decorating a snap. The colors below are white to the street side. For a more finished custom look include a decorative hem. (See the options box below and click on the red question mark to see a photo of the hem). For ease of operation the shade comes standard with a clutch rather than spring roller. Each shade has a color coordinated continuous nylon loop chain, which raises and lowers the shade when pulled in either direction. The clutch helps lift the shade’s weight as it is raised and it has a brake which keeps the shade in the desired position. The control chain always remains the same length no matter what position the shade is in. As standard, the controls are on the right side; however, you may select left side controls from the options box at no additional charge. The shade is equipped with a new spring loaded end plug which makes it possible for just one person to quickly install the shade. The end plug locks the shade safely in place and automatically adjusts for measurement inaccuracies through its patented spring function. The finished look is both elegant and symmetrical in design. Supplied with 3mm steel universal brackets that can be used for both right and left sides. Finished with decorative end cap covers for outside mounts. Depending on the size of the shade and the weight of the fabric the steel roller tube is 1 1/8" or 1 3/8" in diameter. An attractive cassette valance system is available as an option. The cassette includes the continuous loop control and has a matching fabric insert (reverse roll option not available on cassette). IMPORTANT: Concerning roller shades the width that you order is called the “tip to tip” measurement. The tip to tip measurement is the measurement from bracket to bracket after all the hardware has been placed on the roller tube. The fabric cannot be and will not be as wide as the “tip to tip” measurement. On all roller shades that have a clutch the fabric will be approximately 1 1/8” to 1 ¼” less wide than the “tip to tip” measurement. (Example: if the ordered width of the shade is 36 1/4” the fabric will be approximately 35” wide). This is true for all roller shades that are equipped with a clutch. So, roller shades, when installed as inside mount, will have small light gaps on each side of the shade. This is necessary to accommodate the side-mounted brackets and other hardware. This is a characteristic of all roller shades regardless of the manufacturer. All roller shades that utilize a clutch will have a light gap of approximately ¾” on one side and a ½” light gap on the other side. On spring roller shades such as our Cost Cutter shade there will be a light gap of approximately 5/8” on both sides. (When measuring the windows do not make any reductions – use exact measurements. The factory will make the necessary reductions. (See instructions for measuring windows).
